Welcome to Godessa Jewellery

Thank you so much for being here. I'd like to introduce myself and share a bit about Godessa with you

My name is Laura and I design and handcraft each piece of Godessa jewellery in solid sterling silver in my studio in Margate, England.  I set up Godessa in 2016 after coming out of a very difficult time in my life and as a result I decided that I wanted to create jewellery that was not only beautiful and timeless, but that had meaning.

I have always had a passion for jewellery and  been fascinated by its transformative quality. I saw its powerful storytelling abilities, how pieces carry within them memories, sentiments and connections.

When I created Godessa all these elements came together and within each piece of Godessa jewellery I craft stories and messages of inspiration, positivity and empowerment, which I hope the wearer will connect to and feel whenever they wear it.

My inspiration comes from female voices from the past. Goddesses were my starting point, powerful female figures that transcend time and cultures. As I looked into their history I found messages of empowerment, transformation and strength, ways to understand and narrate my own story.

From here I created a language for Godessa. Each collection is based around a female figure from the past and their mythology and history, each has its own symbol that represents their essence. I hope that these symbols act as a bridge of meaning between ancient voices, mine as the maker and yours.

I believe in the storytelling and transformative nature of jewellery. I believe it can empower and inspire, and I believe it does connect us. All the pieces I make come from stories of strength and love and each will speak to you for a reason.

Whether you are looking for a gift for yourself or someone else, look for the symbols and pieces that speak to you the most and you will find not only a piece of jewellery but a message.

Thank you again for being here, I hope you enjoy browsing the website and find a piece that speaks to you.
